Message Regarding the Recent
Tohoku Pacific EarthquakeThe recent Tohoku Pacific Earthquake has claimed a great many lives, and those in the disaster-afflicted regions are now being forced to endure difficult lives. The earthquake was felt strongly in Tokyo, too, where Arc Communications Inc. is located. Fortunately, however, none of our employees were hurt.
Today, every one of us has made a donation in support of reconstruction assistance, and we are making an effort, both as a company and as individuals, to conserve electrical power. We are also busy with our daily operations so that we may play a part in the revitalization of economic activities here in Japan.

Foreign-language Website Production/Website Translation
– Four Issues Related to Foreign-language Website Production/The Effective Use of A Translation Agency –
As the trend towards globalization continues to accelerate, Arc Communications is seeing an increase in the number of queries and orders for the production of a “global site.” However, the term “global site” as used by our clients sometimes refers to any foreign-language version of a website, and the intended purpose could be a foreign-language website for rolling out a business in a foreign country or a website for foreigners living in Japan. It is therefore extremely important as the production entity of a site that we confirm the client’s intent and share the objective of the website being produced.
In this feature, we have broken foreign-language websites into four categories and describe, on the basis of our wealth of experience in their production, the issues faced by companies regarding foreign-language websites and also provide hints on their production as well as know-how on ordering website translation.
