In our globalizing society, Japanese universities have started programs targeting international students. These curricula require no Japanese knowledge and allow study abroad students to attend and graduate from Japanese universities. But despite all the efforts that have been made, these programs remain relatively unknown to the general public. In order to give these programs more visibility and help gather students from the world over, last year Arc Communications launched UNIV. IN JAPAN, a free website dedicated to providing information on Japanese universities with English-taught programs to the world.
Thanks to the cooperation we received from a large number of universities, we now offer an extensive array of information on universities and their English-based programs to users accessing our website from no less than 129 countries.
In 2013, we were able to satisfy the universities’ request to publish data regarding graduate schools, and hence broadened our scope to include master's and doctorate programs (including MBAs, PhDs, etc.).
Leveraging our expertise on Web production and translation, Arc Communications wishes to contribute to Japan's globalization by using English to bring forth the value of studying at a Japanese university.

As for the customary "Translator of the Year" awards, Arc Communication’s Translation/Localization Department has selected, with gratitude and respect, the three following translators for their outstanding work in the past year.
